WHERE & WHEN IS THE INSIGHT DIALOGUE RETREAT?
Sunday, May 20, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Led by Donna Strickland and Beth Shoyer
Above the Beyond Yoga
1400 Forum Blvd. (Forum Shopping Center), Suite 42
Columbia, MO 65203
Above the Beyond Yoga is near the Breaktime. It is around the corner of the building from Papa John's Pizza and just before Pendulum Bob's Clock Shop. (This is the west side of the south wing of the shopping center.)
RETREAT PRACTICE
Retreats give us an opportunity to experience what happens when mind and body become quiet, steady and focused in the present moment. On retreats we can experience a level of silence and open-heartedness that is hard to experience in the midst of the stimulation of daily life.
As a result of this quiet, steady, focused attention, we are able to see our habitual patterns of wishing life were other than the way it is. Seeing these patterns, we are able to see how they lead to stress and suffering in our lives. We are also able to see more clearly the confusion and identification which keep the patterns arising again and again. When we meet these patterns of mind and body with kindness, non-judgmental attention and wisdom, they are let go and we experience, even if only for a moment, the peacefulness that is always available.
THE DAY'S PROGRAM
Insight Dialogue is a relational meditation practice. The retreat will alternate between silent practice, instruction, and dialogue practice with one or more persons.
